Position Overview

Tylok International Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Machine Operator to join our team. We are looking for a skilled, dependable professional with strong Swiss machining and setup experience.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience operating CNC Swiss machines, preferably in the valves and fittings industry
  • Experience with Tsugami machines strongly preferred
  • Swiss machine setup experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments
  • Knowledge of tight-tolerance machining
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC Swiss machines
  • Perform tool changes and offsets as needed
  • Inspect parts to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments as necessary

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing plant environment
  • Exposure to industrial noise and temperature variations

Material Handling & Control Career Progression
Level 1 – Material Handler – Raw Materials (Entry Level)

Role Summary: Performs basic receiving, handling, and staging of raw materials under direct supervision. Focus is on safety, accuracy, and following documented procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming bar stock, forgings, and machine blanks
  • Verify material quantities against purchase orders and packing lists
  • Assist with weighing, tagging, and staging materials
  • Identify visible damage and report discrepancies
  • Apply basic labels and assist with material storage
  • Follow safety, handling, and segregation requirements

Systems / Tools

  • Basic use of ERP System for observation and assistance only
  • Manual labels, tags, and physical documentation

Skill / Knowledge Expectations

  • Basic understanding of material types (steel, stainless, brass)
  • Ability to read paperwork and follow written work instructions
  • No heat code assignment authority
Level 2 – Material Receiver

Role Summary: Independently receives raw materials and accurately records inventory transactions. Responsible for documentation accuracy and compliance with receiving instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive bar stock, forgings, and machine blanks in ERP System
  • Verify quantities, bundles, heat numbers, and locations
  • Perform XRF scanning per incoming material analysis requirements
  • Compare material certifications to controlled documents
  • Label material correctly, including color coding and required data
  • Complete receiving paperwork and route documentation to Accounting

Systems / Tools

  • ERP Receiving Maintenance
  • XRF Analyzer
  • Material certification databases and shared drives

Skill / Knowledge Expectations

  • Working knowledge of material grades and forms
  • Understanding of certification compliance requirements
  • Ability to identify when material does not meet specifications
Level 3 – Material Control Specialist

Role Summary: Manages material traceability, heat code integrity, and inventory accuracy. Acts as a key control point between Receiving, Inspection, and Production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign and manage heat codes for applicable materials
  • Maintain heat code spreadsheets and certification records
  • Coordinate inspection holds and release of material
  • Verify counts, weights, and heat segregation
  • Enter and maintain material certifications in web-based systems
  • Ensure full traceability from receipt through storage

  • ERP System
  • Heat Code spreadsheets and databases
  • Certification management systems
  • Bar Marking Machine

Skill / Knowledge Expectations

  • Deep understanding of heat code rules and reuse restrictions
  • Knowledge of material traceability and audit requirements
  • Ability to work independently and resolve discrepancies
Level 4 – Material Issuance & Production Support Specialist

Role Summary: Controls the accurate issuance of raw materials to production jobs, ensuring correct quantity, heat number, and documentation to maintain full traceability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue materials in ERP System to shop orders
  • Verify shop order, quantity, lot/serial, and heat number
  • Print and manage material issuance documentation
  • Coordinate with production scheduling and shop orders
  • Ensure material issued matches job and revision requirements
  • Support rework, returns, and inventory adjustments

  • Shop order documentation and internal communications
  • Raw Material saw

Skill / Knowledge Expectations

  • Strong understanding of production flow and job requirements
  • Ability to troubleshoot inventory and issuance errors
  • High accountability for inventory accuracy
Level 5 – Senior Material Control & Receiving Lead

Role Summary: Provides oversight, training, and accountability for receiving, traceability, and material issuance processes. Acts as subject-matter expert and audit support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor receiving and material control personnel
  • Ensure compliance to all receiving, heat code, and issuance procedures
  • Act as primary contact for audits and quality inquiries
  • Review and improve material flow and control processes
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Accounting, and Production
  • Lead investigation and resolution of material discrepancies

Systems / Tools

  • ERP and certification systems, and heat code control
  • Audit logs, deviation records, and quality documentation

Skill / Knowledge Expectations

  • Expert knowledge of material traceability and compliance
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills
  • Ability to enforce standards and improve processes
